It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Maria Stengel at the age of 105, on March 9, 2023 at CHSLD Manoir De L’Ouest De L’Ile.
Her exceptional strength of spirit provided her with the will and fortitude to successfully overcome much hardship. Irene embodied her life with much grace, warmth and personable kindness to everyone.
She will be missed by all who loved and cared for her.
She leaves her daughter Christiana, her son Silvan and his wife Marie, her grandchildren Olivia, Oliver, Ariana and her great grandson Max; including the families of Jack and Anna Sofer, and her close friends Klaus and Katharina Rossfeldt and many others.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at Actuel Services Funeraire Verdun on March 20 from 2-6pm.

Having met Irene at Residence St. Moritz through some friends, Jan and Roma, we had the pleasure of her company many times. We were honoured too to celebrate her 100th birthday, meeting her extended family at that time. She was really one of kind, an elegant woman, very intelligent and knowledgeable. May she rest in peace.
