Norman Havill

The family is heartbroken to announce the sudden passing on June 23, 2021, of Norman Havill at the age of 68 yrs after a brief illness.

Born in Montreal, he was the son of the late Hebert Norman Havill and Patricia Smith. Beloved husband of 25 yrs to Guylaine, father to Philip, James, and Jason as well as grandfather to his precious Athena Sapphire.

He is survived by three older siblings: Bert (Montreal), Liz (Hawkesbury) and Cathy (Toronto) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws. He is predeceased by his sister Patsy (1983).

He loved kung fu as a young man as well as fishing and snorkeling at his island paradise.

He worked his early years at T. Havill paper and then over 30 years at The Bay, to then spend the last ten years as dispatch for  Public Security for Town of Mount Royal. Everywhere he went, he was known for his helpfulness and kindness as well as his puns and ‘Dad’ jokes, not to mention his fudge.

He will be greatly missed by all his friend, work, and island families.

An extra thank you to the entire staff at St. Mary’s Hospital 5 main Palliative care unit.

Funeral will be at Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Church, 4949 rue de Verdun, Verdun, July 17 2021. Visitation at 10 AM and service at 11 AM. Private family burial will follow at a later date.
