Passed away at the age of 89 with daughter Catherine at her side. Daughter of the late Edward and Marjorie (Hullett), she grew up in Cedars, Quebec, spent most of her adult life in Pincourt, and her final years in LaSalle and Verdun.
Our mother was a kind-hearted, quiet, and generous woman who spent her early married life caring for sisters-in-law Margaret, Christine, and Heather as well as raising her own children, with partner, Charles Oliver (deceased). Once her children were in school, she returned to school to train as a teacher and shared her gift as an educator at Edgewater Elementary School in Pincourt, many of those as a special needs teacher, until her retirement in 1992.
Left to mourn are sister Judith (John), daughters Catherine (Frank), Frances (Greg), son Stephen (Joanna), grandchildren Guillaume (Vijeta), Simon (Melanie), Benjamin (Audrey), Hilde (Patrick), Rachel (Adam), great-grandchildren Olivia, Adam, and Meera Elizabeth, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended family.
A true bargain-hunter who enjoyed sharing found treasures with family and friends, she also shared many news clippings as she read every word in the newspaper. She greatly enjoyed phone calls and visits with family and friends, swimming, jewelry of all kinds, Avon products, and games of chance, especially scratch cards and bingo. Despite health challenges in her last years, she was always an active participant at activities offered at her seniors residences.
In keeping with the deceased wishes, there will be no visitation. A private service will be held in Montreal and a family memorial service will take place in Nova Scotia at a later date. A generous supporter of many charities, donations in her memory to your favorite charity would be appreciated. Also one to enjoy a nice drink, please think of a happy memory you shared with her the next time you raise a glass.
Olive Oliver (Née Wood)
