It is with heartfelt sorrow, after a brave battle with cancer, that we announce the passing of Anthony (AJO) on August the 28th, 2024, with his devoted partner of 20 years Sharon J. Tyndall and their son Tyler Di Tomasso at his side.
Also survived by his 3 beautiful daughters, Sophia, Brandy and Alana, as well as 6 precious grandchildren. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Lara, Daniel, Andrew, Catherine, Johnathan and Simon.
Anthony was born on November 27th, 1955, the youngest of 4 children, Marco (Sylvania), Paul and Christopher (Gale), to the late Erminio (Tommy) Di Tomasso and the late Catherine Van Tuyl.
Anthony was a man of immense humor, wisdom heart and talent. His passion for music was beyond its limits. Playing saxophone, harmonica and singing, he wrote many of his own songs/lyrics.
He touched the hearts of everyone he met: the many people he played and jammed with as well as the audience. One thing he especially loved was trying to get gigs on or around his birthday time. So, this year, since he unfortunately won’t be, we would like to invite everyone and anyone for a celebration of life. A Farwell birthday bash tribute in honor of Anthony (AJO Tomasso) will be held on November 27th at Duffy’s Bar.
(Just a last birthday jam night for him.) Thank you very much Ron Edward for helping organize this event.
Anthony had on request before he died. All donations to be made to the Lakeshore General Hospital (Oncology department) (click here) and Nova West Island (click here), who really supported us emotionally and with all the necessities even going through a private company for oxygen tanks.
Thanks to all the staff at Familiprix Nathalie Turgeon for all their help and emotional support prior to his passing and presently. You’re all precious and became part of our family.
“AJO, you will forever be missed but always remain in our hearts.”
“Ti Voglio Ben’assai, Ben’assai. Per Eternita E di Piu.”
“Till we meet again my sweet AJO.”
