Eddy, born January 22nd 1957 to Audrey Asselin and Michael Nolan (predeceased) originally from Point- Saint-Charles/ "The Point", passed away Friday April 12th 2024 at the age of 67 at the Royal Victoria Hospital after an extended battle with his health. In addition to his parents, Eddy was predeceased by sisters Gail and Lorraine Nolan, as well as brothers Mickey and Paddy Nolan. He is survived by his spouse Mary, daughters Lisa and Angela, grandson Brandon as well as siblings Colleen, Murphy, Marlene (Donald), Karen, Timmy (Kathy) and Tommy (Sonia), his father in law Angelo Silvaggio (Angela Silvaggio, predeceased), in laws Michey (Tony), Carm and Mike (Connie) and many nieces and nephews.
Growing up in the point, Eddy started training as a boxer with his father Mike as a coach and went on to compete and win 5 Quebec Golden Gloves championships in his weight class and category between 1974 and 1981. He then focused his athleticism towards running and trained to complete 65 marathons, many alongside his dear Mary. In 1981, after watching Terry Fox run through Canada and losing 2 sisters to cancer, Eddy dedicated himself to keeping Terry's dream alive by raising money for cancer research through the Terry Fox Foundation and participating and organising Terry Fox runs in Montreal as well as starting the tradition in different schools for 43 years. His involvement and passion touched the hearts of many and created ever lasting friendships through the running and Terry Fox communities.
