JAMES DICK passed away at the Jewish General Hospital on June 9th 2024, his final moments were spent enveloped in the love of those he cherished. James’s legacy is carried on by his daughter DeeDee, his son Daniel with daughter in law Tammy and his two grandsons Mason & Jackson. He also leaves behind his step son Kevin with daughters Chelsea and Robyn. He will be greatly missed by his brother Danny in Scotland, his sisters Margaret Murray and Brenda Greenan and brother in law Gary.
James’s spirit will also live on through his numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews from all corners of the world, especially Craig, Iain and Sarah, whose video calls and messages made their uncle light up while he was in the hospital. Although the path was arduous, support from the Jewish General staff was remarkable, especially PAB Devon and nurses Eulin and Fatima, who's compassionate care of our dad and family was above and beyond. They brought us comfort and laughter when we needed it most. The overwhelming love have we received from everyone has been a source of comfort and gratitude. United in heaven with his beloved siblings Peter Dick and Anne Harper, we take solace in knowing that joyous reunions are taking place above. We would like to say a special thank you to our cousins James and Anne and their families, who spent hours by our dad's side, supporting each of us with rides, food, laughter and love.
A funeral mass in honour of James will be held on July 20th, 2024, at 11 AM at St. Jean Brebeuf Church in LaSalle, located at 7777 George Street. Following the service, a small luncheon will be offered in the church hall, where friends and family are invited to share in remembering James’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, our family encourages you to donate to your local palliative care center or to a children's sports team in your community. Our dad supported our sports teams and all our activities for over 20 years of his life and having others following in his footsteps would be a wonderful way to carry on his legacy.
