The family of Lillian McGarrity Joyce wishes to announce her passing which took place on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Lillian was born in Montreal on September 19, 1950, to Charles “Pops” McGarrity and Maureen Geary. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Thomas Joyce; her children, Lori-Ann Joyce (Mike) and Shauna Joyce; and her most treasured grandchildren, Brenna and Avery. She is also survived by her siblings, Sandra McGarrity (Leslie), Dale McGarrity, Eddie McGarrity, her sister-in-law Margaret Joyce and brother-in-law Larry Laurie along with many extended family members including her nieces -Jenna, Kyndra, Megan, Karleigh & Katie.

Lillian was predeceased by her parents, her siblings Ricky, Marlene, Charlie, Maureen, and her brother-in-law Patrick Scully.

Lillian fiercely loved her family. After losing her mother at a young age, she stepped in to help raise her siblings, showing a strength and devotion far beyond her years. She went on to dedicate her life to being the most committed mother and grandmother, always putting family at the center of everything she did. We were truly blessed to have her in our lives.

It is her life, and not her loss, that we will celebrate. The celebration will be held at St. Edmund of Canterbury Parish, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd., on Thursday, August 21 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Amy Molson or to Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation.
