Stephanie Tapp

1977-2025
January 18, 1977 - November 8, 2025

Our beloved Stephanie Tapp passed away on November 8, 2025 after valiantly fighting cancer with a strength that inspired everyone around her—never giving up, never losing her spark and never allowing her illness to define the joy she brought into the world. She took her final breath peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family—held, comforted and cherished until the very end.

Stephanie lived her life with intention, determined to make memories at every opportunity. She collected memories the way some people collect fridge magnets. Whether it was a gathering with family, a party with friends, cross-country road trips, spontaneous weekend getaways to catch a Broadway show—if it involved laughter, adventure or a playlist, she was ready to go.

Music was woven into the fabric of Stephanie's life. Growing up with a father who was both a DJ and a talented guitar player, their home was filled with melodies and harmonies and music became her second language. Instead of reciting nursery rhymes, Stephanie knew the lyrics to all the Top 40 hits. She found her voice early—and used it everywhere. She dazzled in high school variety shows, rocked the mic with her sister in live bands, and reigned supreme as the family's unapologetic "Karaoke Queen".

Stephanie leaves behind her loving mother Phyllis Stott who will carry her love with her always; her devoted sister, soulmate in mischief and partner in every crazy idea, Stacey Tapp; her brother-in-law, the sidekick in many of our funniest stories, Jason Sioui; and her treasured niece and goddaughter Hailey Sioui Tapp, with whom she shared a bond full of giggles, secrets and beautifully goofy moments. She was predeceased by, and is reunited now with her father Vincent Tapp, who we’re sure greeted her with open arms and a guitar at the ready—finally getting that long-awaited duet.

Our thanks go to the caring staff at the Cedar Cancer Centre—for their exceptional care and to the dedicated team at the Royal Victoria palliative care unit, who surrounded her with comfort and dignity during her final journey.

Though the stage is now dark and the microphone silent, Stephanie's encore will be the echoes of laughter she left in the hearts of everyone she touched. Her final bow may have come too soon, but the standing ovation she receives is eternal.

A celebration of Stephanie's life will be held at BLVD Bar & Gril located at 100 rue Kepler in Chateauguay from 1PM to 4PM on November 30th where we’ll laugh, sing, share stories, and honor the unforgettable magic she brought into our lives. Because if there’s one thing Stephanie taught us, it’s this:
Life is short—so belt out the high notes, take the trip, and always, always make the memory.
