Susan Chalmers

1951-2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Chalmers (Welchner). She passed peacefully on October 31st, 2024, at the Charles LeMoyne Hospital with her loving son and daughter by her side.

Daughter of the late Samual Chalmers and Ruth Fisher. Susan leaves behind her loving husband of almost 34 years, Edward Welchner, loving son Daniel Welchner (Vanessa) and daughter Tammy Chalmers. She was the proud grandmother of Alexander and Brandon. Susan also leaves behind her sisters Diane Drake (Donald Drake) and twin sister Sandra Marley. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, Aunts, Uncles, cousins, friends and everyone else who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Everyone who met Susan was immediately captivated by her beautiful warm smile as well as those bright green eyes. Always thinking of others before herself.

Susan was a fighter but sadly after a 4 yr battle with cancer, the disease took her from us. She fought until the very end, all the while making sure that others were ok. She was always making everyone laugh. Nurses, doctors, other patients in her room and of course her family and friends. We all loved her funny texts and loving messages. On her last day she asked her son Daniel to buy some bags of chocolates for the nurses to share for Halloween, she was very thoughtful and will be dearly missed.

Susan didn’t want a large ceremony so there will be a small, intimate celebration of her life for family and close friends which will be announced shortly.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society to put an end to this terrible disease (click here). 🙏🏻
