With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Barbara Vardon, 71, at 5:05 pm on January 23rd, 2026. She passed away peacefully after a courageous battle surrounded by family and friends at Maison Sault-Saint-Louis hospice.
Barbara was born on April 17th, 1954, in Montreal to parents Florence (Shirley) Light and Earl Vardon. She is survived by her husband Glenn, her children: Keith (Patricia), Derek, and Lisa, and her grandchildren: Sinead, Gwyn, Maeve, and Briella, and siblings: Freddy, Gordie (Manon), and Gail (Jamie).
Barbara is remembered for her tireless devotion to family and friends, and kindness and love for her animals. Barbara was a creative person; she enjoyed and excelled in arts and crafts, and decoration. She spent the entirety of her life taking care of other people in her personal and work life. She never slowed down, displaying Herculean strength and energy throughout her life to the very end. We take comfort knowing Barbara is with loved ones who passed before her, including her beloved dog, Daisy.
There will be a funeral held on March 14th, 2026, at Saint Willibrord Parish, 351 Rue Willibrord, Verdun. The viewing will begin at 10:30 am and the service will commence at 11:00 am.
