Ellen Kumpic

1960-2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen Kumpic, 64 years young.

Ellen passed away peacefully, Thursday July 17th, at the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care center, after her courageous battle with cancer. She was a strong resilient woman who continued to amaze and inspire everyone around her. She fought with grace, strength and an unwavering sense of optimism.

Ellen was a loving and devoted Mother to Jessica(Shak) and a proud, adoring Oma to her grandchildren Kaleb and Brayden. She also leaves behind her devoted spouse Gordon, loving siblings Brenda(John) and Carl(Sharon) and nephew Sean. Aunty Ellen will be deeply missed by many other nieces/nephews,cousins and friends. Friends were Ellen’s chosen family, and family meant everything to her.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents Paula and Carl, as well as her brother Bruce- each of whom she held dear to her heart.

Ellen was a vibrant soul-full of life, laughter and light, She had a unique gift for bringing people together.  She always found joy in the little things; like playing in the fallen leaves, dancing in the rain or building things in the snow. Ellen would use any excuse to play outside, Nature, like music, was often her sanctuary, and she embraced it with childlike wonder and gratitude.
She sang like no one was listening, danced like no one was watching and like everything, shared the music that inspired her most with those she loved.

Her presence was magnetic; she touched all whom she came into contact with, offering love, laughter and often guidance.

Throughout her life, Ellen quietly and consistently helped others- offering support, wisdom and kindness to friends, family and even strangers. She had an open heart and a generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand, share encouragement, or simply listen. Many carry her strength and compassion with them today because of the care she gave along the way.

Ellen lived life to the fullest, embracing fun adventures with enthusiasm and joy. Her spirit was contagious, her heart generous and her legacy will live on in the many lives she touched.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever in our hearts.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff and volunteers at Lakeshore hospital and the Teresa Dellar Palliative Care Residence for their exceptional care and compassion.
