Hans Jürgen Sante

1949-2024
It is with sadness that the family of Hans Jürgen Sante announce his passing on Monday, March 18, 2024 in Châteauguay, QC. Hans leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 52 years,  Luba Sante (née Orlowski) and his 4 children, Trisha (Gaetan Belley), Jason (Naomi), Terry (Jennifer), Jonathan (Vanessa) as well as his 16 grandchildren; Kaleb (Darian), Joshua, Ethan, Charley, Cassidy, Norah, Penelope, Kaeden, Leila, Lily, Cole, Kaleigh, Cameron, Olivia, Noah and Landon.

Hans was a man of faith, who grew up attending church, and as an adult made this faith his own.  His faith in Jesus directed his steps through all his life and allowed him to see death as a change in location, not an end.  Hans’ life was a life of steady commitment.  He enjoyed the little things, some good reading, time with his family, walking and playing soccer.

Hans was born and spent the first part of his life in Göttingerode, Germany.  At the age of 9, his family immigrated to Canada, settling in Châteauguay, QC, where he spent most of the remainder of his life.  Hans is predeceased by his parents Heinrich and Ilse (née Ihlenborg) and his brother Karl. He also leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Ingrid and Rosie (Jay Tremblay) as well as nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Friday March 22, 2024 from 7-9 pm and Saturday March 23, 2024 from 10 to 11 am.  Celebration of life is Saturday March 23 at 11am, followed by light refreshments.  Maplewood Presbyterian church, 215 Rue McLeod, Châteauguay, QC J6J 2H5.
