Joan Simpson, cherished wife, mother, Nanna and Great-Nanna, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2023 at age 100 with her daughter Sandra by her side.

Born on March 22, 1923, Joan lived a long and full life surrounded by family and close friends. She married her husband, Jim, in August of 1942 and celebrated 62 years together. They raised their four children together in Montreal and enjoyed travel, including countless trips to Antigua, as well as family ski trips and time spent at their cottage retreat in Knowlton. Always the most elegant person in the room, she will be remembered for her impeccable style and of course for her prolific knitting, including the Christmas stockings proudly hung from each grandchild's mantle.

Joan was predeceased by her husband, James, her son, James (Jimmy), and daughters Janet and Pamela. She is survived by her daughter Sandra and husband Tony, daughter-in-law Ruth, and son-in-law Paul. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The burial will be held at the Mount Royal Cemetery on July 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Joan's name to the charity of your choice.
