Adam James Mills Leger
It is with heartbreaking sadness that we announce the death of Adam Leger, 43 at CHUM hospital in Montreal. He was born and raised in Moncton, N.B. Adam was very outgoing and charming and was able to talk to anyone about anything. In his youth he played in organized sports as a catcher in baseball and he played football for both Moncton City and MHS Purple Knights. His love and talent for music developed at an early age. He persuaded his junior high school music teacher to permit him to take home a different instrument each weekend to practice. His first love was the guitar. He could play anything from metal, rock and blues but his favourite was always punk rock. Adam played in many bands but it was with Shit Tax that he was able to tour across Canada, Europe and South America. Adam settled in Montreal, the city that had his heart since his first visit. He immersed himself into the Montreal punk culture and music scene. He was known for his unmistakable Punk style, the giant red mohawk, ripped jeans and clothing covered in band patches and pins from his favourite bands.
Anyone who knew Adam, knew he was one of a kind. He had enough energy to light up a room. He could make you laugh until your stomach hurt, drive you crazy at times and somehow do both in the same conversation. Behind all that energy was a man with a huge heart. He cared deeply for his family and friends and would defend the people he loved without hesitation. He lived with a heart condition for many years but still managed to live life to the fullest. He will be missed.
Adam was predeceased by his mother, Virginia Leger and his father Ronald (Joseph) Mills. He is survived by his sister Erin (Randy) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is also survived by many incredible and supportive friends who became his family.
At his request, cremation has taken place. Celebrations in his honour are being held in Montreal and Moncton.
